This novelist from the middle of the 20th century won the Jnanpith Award for his work in 1973. Litt degree from Sambalpur University in 1976, he has also earned several honours. His well-known pieces include Paraja, Danapani, Laya Bilaya, and Dadi Budha have been translated to English. He translated Tolstoy’s War and Peace and Togore’s Jogajog to Oriya.
