International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced significant changes to the Playing Conditions, effective from June 1, 2023. These changes were approved by the Chief Executives’ Committee, taking into consideration the recommendations from the Men’s Cricket Committee led by Sourav Ganguly and the Women’s Cricket Committee.
The key modifications include the elimination of the soft signal, mandatory use of helmets in high-risk positions, and a minor addition to the Free Hit rule. These changes aim to enhance decision-making accuracy, prioritize player safety, and streamline the game.
